When I conceived Ascendant Recruitment in 2002 I dreamed of simplicity. I wanted us to be known for attracting the best people in the market whilst simultaneously working with the best companies. Launched in 2003 Ascendant Recruitment was based on simplicity, straightforwardness, honesty and a real desire to serve. Fast forward to the present day and I think I can look back and say that within the realm of Office Support Recruitment we have achieved our initial aim of being the leading Independent Office Support Recruitment Company in Milton Keynes – but we take nothing for granted!
The next ten years are exciting as we develop new services to concentrate not only on Office Support but also Finance, Sales & Marketing, HR and Graduate positions. Our diversification offers a greater breadth of opportunities to our candidates and a greater range of excellent talent to our clients whilst creating another 15 Recruitment and Managerial Roles within in our organisation. My main responsibility remains to ensure my team adheres to the vision and values of our company – simplicity, straightforwardness, honesty and a desire to serve. But in addition, my role is broadly split between making sure our existing clients are very happy with our service, developing new business, developing our Consultants, and working with Rosanna to develop our Social Media Strategy.
I’m also passionate about two more things! Recruiting and retaining the very best and most talented Recruitment Consultants in the region. I’m very lucky to have, what I believe to be, an awesome team, so I’m trying to reward them by developing the single best working environment in Milton Keynes; don’t worry they are providing me with lots of suggestions! Hello my name is David and I manage the Temporaries Support Division at Ascendant Recruitment. My goal is to provide the best service possible to both my clients and my candidates whilst placing people into the very best opportunities Milton Keynes has to offer. In my seven years within the sales industry, I have learnt many lessons, such as ‘all hard work produces profit’ and the best sales people ‘listen more than they speak’. I’m passionate about making my clients and candidates happy and I get a real buzz from helping them fulfil their career and staffing ambitions. I enjoy finding ways that I can help new customers achieve their personal ambitions, through taking a real interest in their needs rather than mine. Outside of work, I love various sports and helping people, I’m very competitive! I currently run, captain and play for a local football team sponsored by a local charity, as well as having the pleasure of running several youth works for my local church. I love helping young people, whether that be helping them to persist and push through on the football pitch or being there to care.
I also loved and used to play a lot of Rugby at school and support Liverpool FC - I'm definitely an outdoor’s kind of guy!

Hi, my name is Rosanna and I joined the Ascendant Recruitment team in summer 2014 as their Marketing Manager. Although I have chosen a career in Marketing, I’ve always had a keen interest in recruitment and so this is an ideal role for me.
Prior to working for Ascendant I spent six years as the Marketing Communications Manager for the National Careers Service and this gave me a real insight into the challenges people face when looking for work and how these can be overcome. I also have plenty of my own personal experiences to draw upon as a job seeker (this is particularly handy when writing blogs)!
In a nutshell, my role is to help raise awareness of the fantastic service Ascendant Recruitment delivers to both clients and candidates alike and continually find ways to improve the service and the way we communicate with our candidates and clients.

My career spans in excess of thirty years, the pinnacle of which has been the last twelve years at Ascendant Recruitment. Having worked in sales for 3 years, I started my career in Estate Agency before deciding to make the move to recruitment in 2014! I love my job and have met some great people since I started. Outside of work I like to participate in various sports. My favourite is football! I play on Saturdays and Sundays so football takes up the majority of time when I’m not working. My favourite football team is Chelsea and I try and go to matches as much as I can. I spend the rest of my time off with friends socialising, meeting new people and spending time with my family.
Hi, my name is Sascha and I joined Ascendant Recruitment in November 2015 as a Permanent Consultant, recruiting for Office Support roles. Prior to working for Ascendant I worked in sales within the IT and Telecomms industry. I knew I wanted to remain within a sales role and decided to pursue a career in recruitment as this has always been an area I’ve been interested in.

Hi my name is Izzy and I work in the Finance Division of Ascendant Recruitment. From a very young age I’ve always enjoyed interacting with different people so by the age of 18 my first role was in a call centre based in Stoke on Trent. This meant speaking to customers on a daily basis, problem solving and supporting them where and when I could. I loved it!! It was great getting to speak to lots of different people every day.
By the age of 23 I wanted to make even more of a difference so the next step in my career was into recruitment. I secured a role for a national recruitment agency where I specialised in finance and accounting recruitment.

Hello, my name is Sharan and I joined Ascendant in March 2017. I manage the recruitment of temporary and permanent professionals into Accounts & Finance roles. I have worked in Recruitment and Account Management roles since the age of 23, and without giving my age away I have over 12 years recruitment experience.
The experience has been varied, from working in a national recruitment agency to a smaller independent one more recently, specialising in Finance and Accounts. I also have in-house recruitment experience with a leading retail company recruiting for their head office Finance roles.
What I like about Nick and his team at Ascendant is the fact that they all are passionate about candidates and clients and they love what they do.
