Health and Safety Advisor

Permanent

£22k-£24k DOE

Based in Wellingborough - UK travel required

As our client continues to grow, they need to ensure the safety of their people. As a Health and Safety Advisor you will help develop policies and procedures to make sure people stay safe in the workplace and are not harmed while carrying out their roles. You will be responsible for investigating, reporting, and preventing incidents, as well as reporting on the statistics and offering solutions to reduce risk.

You will advise colleagues on company policies, best practise, and legal requirements, take responsibility for health and safety related projects, including staff talks and training.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Helping with the investigation of incidents to establish root cause and develop a relevant action plan to follow up on.
  • Working on Health & Safety related projects.
  • Assisting with risk assessments and site inspections ensuring actions are completed.
  • Keep records up to date with incidents, near misses and accidents.
    Investigating health-related complaints and cases of ill health.
  • Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly and safely.
  • Identifying potential hazards.
  • Determining ways of reducing risks.
  • Compiling statistics and writing reports.
  • Running Health and Safety meetings and training courses for employees.
  • Liaising with external Health and Safety authorities.
  • Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A problem solver with strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Keen to develop and take on further studies
  • Detail orientated
  • An excellent communicator and can work with people at all levels of the company
  • Happy to Travel and have a full UK Driving License
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in a safety related field/NEBOSH Certificate is a plus
