It's a busy time for our clients Recruitment Team which is why we have an exciting opportunity for a temporary In-House Recruiter/ Recruitment Co-ordinator to join them and make a real difference to the business. Our client is one of the country's leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles and they support over 40 sites across the UK with their recruitment, handling over 500 vacancies every year. Based at their head office in Milton Keynes you will work as part of a team providing internal recruitment advice and support to their UK branches and head office function. A large proportion of vacancies are for skilled roles in short supply, so they are focused on finding a recruiter that can use their initiative to find the best candidates whilst giving great service and support to their managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with managers to gain a full understanding of the role
  • Develop & place attractive and informative job adverts and job profiles on job boards/social media
  • Search CV databases and contact potential candidates
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies and advise managers on agency terms of business
  • Use the company's Applicant Tracking System to log vacancies, post adverts and record progress etc.
  • Sift and screen all applications, including some telephone screening
  • Communicate regularly with hiring managers across the UK to ensure applications are progressed in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide advice to managers on solutions for difficult to fill vacancies
  • Arrange interviews and provide advice to managers on selection methods and the preparation of interview questions
  • Issue contracts of employment for new recruits, ensuring all paperwork and checks are complete

Key requirements for the role:

  • Previous relevant experience within recruitment, preferably an in-house setting
  • Experience of drafting job profiles and adverts - a high standard of written communication and attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate current knowledge of the recruitment industry, latest trends and best practice
  • Shows determination and persistence when faced with challenging tasks
  • High level of customer service awareness and the ability to build strong relationships with customers, both face to face and over the telephone
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to review tasks/workload, identify priorities and organise work accordingly in order to meet deadlines
  • Able to work on own initiative and proactively progress tasks
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Desirable experience & qualifications:

  • Previous experience of using applicant tracking systems to manage candidates and post vacancies
  • Previous experience of using CV databases for CV searching
  • Knowledge of the current rules relating to rights to work in the UK
  • Previous experience in preparing terms and conditions of employment
  • Experience within the automotive industry
