Accounts Assistant

Part time/Permanent

£20,000 pro rata

Northampton

We have an opportunity to join an established business in the Brackmills area of Northampton. The role of Accounts Assistant is working part time core daytime hours between 10.00am and 3.00pm, Monday to Friday to the tune of 23 hours per week.

This rare, part time opportunity is perfect for a candidate that has strong experience of sales ledger and that has enough knowledge and experience to work with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will include but are not limited to:

  • Process supplier invoices, including coding correctly and ensuring relevant sign off
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Issue authorised customer invoices from Sage
  • Issue customer monthly statements via email and post, where necessary.
  • Resolve customer queries or escalate as necessary
  • Monitor, chase and report on debtor's ledger and take necessary action
  • Create new customer accounts; process credit checks
  • Reconciliation of company credit cards and staff expenses using NAV/Sage
  • Record and prepare cheques for banking and bank
  • General administration to support the role

The Accounts Assistant needs to have:

  • Previous experience with Sales Ledger essential
  • Experience with Purchase Ledger would be advantageous
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make sound decisions
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal & written
  • Attention to detail - work with accuracy and precision
  • Good standard of education; ideally a recognised accounting qualification
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and or Sage 200 is advantageous
