Operations Manager

Northampton

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000

My awarding winning client is one of the fastest growing outdoor construction companies in the UK. They are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their creative and forward thinking management team.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To effectively lead the Department ensuring all financial, quality and customer service targets are consistently met.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Operations

  • To effectively schedule works maximising operational efficiency, including staff allocation, materials availability, commercial targets and customer expectations.
  • To ensure works are delivered in budget, as per the contractual specification and adhering to the company's financial management and quality requirements.
  • To manage all prestart processes within the department.
  • To effectively integrate new business, ensuring works are delivered aligned to quoted expectation.
  • To ensure operational system compliance across the work force, include Field Service (operational management system) and CRM, to review and manage data to improve operational efficiency.

Health and Safety

  • Take responsibility for health and safety, actively participating in the maintenance and improvement of the overall Company Health and Safety culture.
  • Effectively implement and monitor the company's Health & Safety policy and associated procedures, championing a good Health & Safety environment.
  • To ensure all site specific risk assessments, method statements and specific site instructions are in place prior to any works commencing.

H.R.

  • Ensure that all employees are effectively managed and employee records are maintained.
  • Recruit employees as necessary, following the company Recruitment Policy.

Financials and Commercials

  • Responsibility for ensuring the financial integrity of all works undertaken
  • To take financial and commercial responsibility for works from inception to completion including, but not limited to, invoicing, debt management, programme management and cost control.
  • Prepare weekly financial reports and forecasts as required.

Client Management

  • To ensure best in sector customer service is delivered.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Educated to a graduate or similar level preferably within a management or technically relevant field.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Financially and commercially literate with demonstrable skills in managing work and resources aligned to budgets.
  • Strong organisational capability and works well in a fast paced and multidiscipline environment.
  • Self- motivated, positive and driven.
  • I.T. Literate including but not limited to Microsoft Applications, specifically Word and Excel.
