Job description

Ascendant Recruitment are recruiting for 2 warehouse operatives based in Milton Keynes.

Monday to Friday on a rotational shift

Week 1 - 8am - 5pm

Week 2 - 11am - 8pm
 

£19,500
 

The ideal candidate will of had basic warehouse experience, passionate, committed and eager for progression.

Duties will include;

  • General warehouse duties
  • Picking and packing
  • Unloading and loading
  • Wrapping palettes
  • Hand scanners
  • Stock locating
  • Stock control
  • Willing to be trained on forklift

Warehouse SupervisorWorking Hours - 40 hours a weekPaying up to £26,000Milton KeynesMain Duties:LeadershipTo lead a warehouse based team in ensuring the timely booking and issuing of raw materials and the accuracy of stock keeping records.To ensure that all staff are fully trained across all business processes.To plan the resource of the warehouse to suit peaks and troughs by making recommendations to the Materials Manager.To ensure all warehouse operators are trained to maintain AX records.Goods Receiving:To oversee /ensure the following:That all goods received are reconciled against open Purchase Orders and to inspect for carriage and/or any other damage.Identification to the Material Manager/team of any discrepancy quantities delivered.Quarantining and reporting of any non-conforming material to the Materials Manager/Quality team.The recording of the successful receipt of conforming Purchased items to the AX system.Clear identification of received direct materials with Traka Item code and quantity.Segregation of any indirect purchases for delivery direct to the named individual.StorageTo oversee/ensure the following:Storage of conforming direct purchases to warehouse locations and entering of the location to the AX system.Appropriate handling/storage of all hazardous, sensitive materials.Picking:To oversee/ensure the following:Timely picking of all material requests.Handling and storage of all materials being picked for transfer to Production/Spares despatch.Accuracy in terms of item and quantity of each picked line.Temporary storage prior to transportation of all picked items.Kanban stock levels are recorded and informed to the materials team as requested by the Materials Manager.Maintenance of the red card Kanban signal process.Picking/delivery of items are to the agreed service levels, ie urgent items delivered within 30 minutes of request.Delivery of received/picked items:To oversee/ensure the following:That there are enough Van deliveries per day from the warehouse to production to maintain the flow of materials.That Urgent items are delivered within 30 minutes of request.That indirect deliveries are taken direct to named recipients.That kits are delivered to designated areas.Maintenance of the yellow (Lineside card system) replenishment system.To ensure stock of each item is picked on a FIFO basis.Safety/HousekeepingTo oversee/ensure the following:That forklifts, pallet trucks and all other lifting equipment are maintained to daily/weekly /annual schedules.That only appropriately trained personnel have access to material handling equipment.The safe access /egress for delivery vehicles.That safe loading weights of racking and the mezzanine area are not exceeded and that all stored items are safely located. That the warehouse is kept tidy and formally audited using the 5S system provided. Accuracy:To oversee/ensure the following:That an annual schedule is produced for PI counts to ensure ABCD items are counted to the frequency specified for that category.That Van stock, cell stock and other as determined by the Materials Manger are counted cyclically (up to 4 times per annum.To investigate all count/AX discrepancies and adjust as necessary. Person Specification Experience: Experience allocating workloads across a small team.Experience of inventory management, stocktaking, AX or other inventory system.Good knowledge of packaging materials and processes. Functional competencies: Confident and effective communicator.Licensed for Reach and Counterbalance forklifts plus attachments.Confident at data entry and with basic PC skills.Good manual dexterity. Personal characteristics: Hands on and practical 'doer'.Team player, working closely with the production and planning teams, and other warehouse staff.
