Permanent, full time role. Salary up to £40K dependent on experience. 37.5 hours per week.

Full driving license is essential for the position.​

The Role

Primary objective is to help support and develop our customers IT Infrastructure. Primarily performing BAU support activities including system checks, backup monitoring and resolving support incidents. You will be working closely with the rest of the Service Support Team on escalated support issues.

You will be involved in working closely with management to direct IT efforts to improve overall efficiency/ service delivery.

Additionally helping perform planning, configuration, maintenance and upgrade of systems infrastructure including Servers, associated management systems and other core infrastructure components.

So a willingness to get involved and get your hands dirty alongside the rest of the team is essential. You should also have the ability to solve complex problems. Any relevant certifications, i.e. ITIL, Microsoft, would also be beneficial.

  • Provide 3rd line network and network security support to all customers for both faults and service requests
  • Deliver Customer Service Excellence
  • Adhere to strict Service Level Agreements for fault resolutions and service requests completions.
  • Identify, liaise and manage any escalated faults with 3rd party suppliers for major incidents or network improvements
  • Ensure that the customer is kept informed of the progress of incidents/service requests and the internal systems are kept updated regularly

Based near Junction 14 of the M1 in Milton Keynes the office is easy to get to and has all local amenities. The office is a fun place to be, with plenty of banter, but it is also hard working and results driven.

Working in house for the company will allow you to not just build great solutions, but launch them, monitor them, improve them, and see the direct results of your efforts.

The Person

Above all you will be proactive in your approach and be good at building strong relationships with clients. Excellent communication skills are paramount and you must possess the ability to liaise internally and externally at all levels. You will be focused on offering outstanding customer service and have at least 2 years experience in a similar role.

Due to the nature of the work a degree of flexibility with working hours is required and you must also possess a full UK driving license and your own vehicle.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience of WAN/LAN infrastructure support
  • Access technologies including, ADSL, Wi-Fi etc.
  • Able to learn and adapt quickly
  • Able to be self-managed, whilst still working as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good oral and written communication skills including producing documentation
  • 5+ years Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server administration
  • 5+ years Microsoft Exchange Server administration
  • 5+ years Microsoft Active Directory/DNS/DHCP administration
  • 5+ years Microsoft Desktop OS
  • Microsoft Hyper-V / VMware

Desirable experience:

  • Experience working in a managed service provider support environment.
  • Experience with SNMP monitoring products.
