Ascendant Recruitment are recruiting for a Quality Manager based in leighton Buzzard.


Permanent position


Monday to Friday


8.30am – 5pm




Main Responsibilities;

  • To provide a clear quality policy, set of procedures, work instructions
  • Daily quality controls in order to monitor and support manufacturing
  • Responsibility for accreditation for ISO9001, BRC IOP V5 or chosen standard and update as and when required.
  • Recommending equipment required for measurement and test through to seeking relevant approvals for purchase, installation and training where required.
  • Day to day management of Quality personnel including the laboratory, encompassing management of individuals’ workloads, staff development, performance reviews, timekeeping, disciplinaries etc in line with company policies.
  • Conducting supplier audits in order to improve quality of supply and ensure conformance of product to specification.
  • Provide a set of measures for presentation to the senior management team on a monthly basis covering customer complaints, quarantined product, preventative and corrective action initiatives. Also health and safety committee outputs and actions and BSI audit status as and when applicable.
  • Approval of documentation to support accreditation for ISO9000 or chosen standard
  • Dealing with customer complaints in a timely manner providing confidence through analysis of the issue and recommendation of preventative and corrective actions.
  • Provide presentations as and when required to customers and other visitors using appropriate quality tools and analysis.
  • Production support, recommending opportunities and leading the drive for continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead the team to achieve accreditation to company quality standard and maintain current standards.
  • Day to day monitoring of production output ensuring compliance to product specification.
  • Member of Management team providing inputs strategy for business growth.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in Quality management
  • Use of quality tools for capability studies CPK
  • Experience of manufacturing processes
  • Strong communicational skills
  • Proven people management skills
  • Strong team player and team motivation
