We have an opportunity with a company within the metal industry sector. Metal companies are a vital part of the UK economy and they perform crucial enabling roles for all other industrial sectors. We are seeking an individual that has experience within this sector to perform this niche sales position for our client.

As Internal Sales Executive, you will be providing accurate quotation and product information to customers in addition to supporting Key Account Managers in order to maximise sales and meet targets. You must ensure that time is focused on developing new revenue streams within the product and service portfolio whilst retaining existing levels of spend, profit and number of accounts.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Maximise sales within the portfolio of existing customers and support Key Account sales.
  • Continually develop a solid customer base
  • Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed targets
  • Plan and prioritise activities to maximise productivity, in accordance with company sales activity programme and targets
  • Build a multi-market business perspective and develop relevant market knowledge, to achieve a wide range of cross-selling opportunities through added value and processes
  • To monitor competitor activity and products, maintaining knowledge of new developments in the industry, anticipating potential negative and positive impacts on the business and adapting focus accordingly
  • Keep all customer records up to date, and provide regular reports including a work plan for the coming week
  • Respond to general queries and any complaints or disputes
  • Liaise with the warehouse, distribution, accounts and administrative functions
  • Ensure a thorough knowledge of all core products and services offered by the company, including main specifications, applications, finishes and sources of supply

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge and background within the metals industry
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms
  • Keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work to, and inspired to meet targets
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within a pressurised environment
  • Prioritise and organise your workload to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Effective telephone and negotiation skills in both written and verbal formats.
