Financial Controller

Up to £75,000 per annum DOE

Wellingborough

Our long-established client is looking for a dynamic Financial Controller to join their team. The finance department requires an experienced Financial Controller to take responsibility for the financial and management reporting to Group. Directing, mentoring and motivating the team and providing advice and input for other managers and to provide succession planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure group consolidation reporting of financials to strict deadlines.
  • Responsibility for the company budget, rolling outlook, forecast and cash flow management. Develop KPI's as needed.
  • Experience with reporting under UKGAAP and USGAAP policies
  • Team development & mentoring
  • A sound knowledge of statutory accounts disclosure and preparation given the company prepares these
  • Audits - liaison with external and internal auditors
  • Experience with being part of an international multi-functional company
  • HMRC compliance (VAT, Intrastat, Payroll related matters) and preparation of other government statistical returns
  • Foreign exchange reporting
  • Implementation of the financial strategy
  • Provide advice to senior management on financial matters and on the potential impact of current and future laws and regulations
  • Develop effective standards of service to the rest of the business

Key Skills and experience:

  • A qualified accountant with experience of working at financial controller level and particularly in a manufacturing environment using MRP techniques
  • Ability to build relationships with peers, external advisors, lawyers, auditors and tax office.
  • Interpersonal skills
  • A person with an inquisitive mind who needs to and wants to understand how the business operates
  • Precision with their work and ensuring the team does the same
  • Hands-on involvement with the work
  • Good communication skills at all levels and the ability to solve problems especially for other managers and staff
  • A flexible approach
  • Change management - Drive change
