Accounts Assistant

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant!

Reporting into the Finance Manager, this varied role requires someone who has strong experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control. You will enjoy the processing and transaction elements of Finance and work with a high degree of accuracy in what is a very important and supportive role.

Our client would prefer leave not to be taken at month end due to the processing responsibilities of this role, though that wouldn't be deemed as impossible.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will include but are not limited to:

  • Purchase ledger - processing and paying invoices
  • Match supplier invoices with Purchase Orders
  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Sales ledger activities - including Credit Control
  • Setting up new customer accounts
  • Credit check customers
  • Maintain cash books
  • Reconciliation of cash books to bank statements and to the trial balance
  • Managing Petty Cash
  • Processing of staff expenses
  • Journal transactions to the nominal ledger including prepayments and accruals
  • VAT and Intrastat returns
  • To assist the Finance Manager with adhoc projects
  • General office support

The Accounts Assistant needs to have:

  • Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
  • A confident credit controller
  • Proven strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Excel
  • Able to pick up new systems and processes quickly
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive information
  • Proactive with high levels of initiative
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature

Working hours are 8.00am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 12.30 pm Friday

The role of Finance Support Assistant will see you undertake billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
