£25,000 - £30,000 (Depending on experience)

 

Our client is a well-established and respected law firm known for delivering high-quality legal services with a personal touch. They are currently seeking a Conveyancing Secretary or Paralegal with proven experience in residential conveyancing to join our thriving property team.

You will work directly with a Partner, supporting a busy caseload of residential property transactions, including:

  • Sales and purchases (including new builds and shared ownership).
  • Transfers of equity.
  • Mortgage and remortgage transactions.

From file opening to post-completion, you'll play a pivotal role in managing transactions and supporting clients with professionalism and efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Opening new files and assisting with file management throughout the transaction.
  • Drafting and checking contracts and other legal documents.
  • Liaising with estate agents, solicitors, mortgage lenders, and clients.
  • Raising and responding to pre-contract enquiries.
  • Carrying out AML and conflict checks.
  • Reviewing source of funds and source of wealth documentation in collaboration with Partners and Accounts.
  • Submitting SDLT returns and Land Registry applications.
  • Managing Land Registry requisitions and updates via the portal.
  • Handling requirements of management companies and ensuring compliance with stamp duty regulations.
  • Communicating with clients in person, over the phone, and in writing throughout the transaction lifecycle.

To be considered, you must have:

  • The ability to hit the ground running.
  • Proven experience in a similar conveyancing role (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures, especially Land Registry and SDLT processes.
  • Experience with new builds and shared ownership schemes.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Confident in client-facing situations with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach to work.
