Accounts AssistantPermanentUp to £25,000Milton Keynes A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant! Reporting into the Finance Manager, this varied role requires someone who has strong experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control. You will enjoy the processing and transaction elements of Finance and work with a high degree of accuracy in what is a very important and supportive role. Our client would prefer leave not to be taken at month end due to the processing responsibilities of this role, though that wouldn't be deemed as impossible. Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will include but are not limited to: Purchase ledger - processing and paying invoicesMatch supplier invoices with Purchase OrdersSetting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account detailsReconciliation of supplier statementsSales ledger activities - including Credit ControlSetting up new customer accountsCredit check customersMaintain cash booksReconciliation of cash books to bank statements and to the trial balanceManaging Petty CashProcessing of staff expensesJournal transactions to the nominal ledger including prepayments and accrualsVAT and Intrastat returnsTo assist the Finance Manager with adhoc projectsGeneral office support The Accounts Assistant needs to have: Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activitiesA confident credit controllerProven strong administrative and organisational skillsExcellent IT skills including MS ExcelAble to pick up new systems and processes quicklyExcellent written and spoken EnglishTrustworthy and discreet with sensitive informationProactive with high levels of initiativeAbility to work individually and as part of a teamSelf-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature Working hours are 8.00am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 12.30 pm Friday If you feel you have what it takes to be our Accounts Assistant, please apply today because we'd love to hear from you!
