The benefits of temp-to-perm

Case study - Julie

When Julie Fowler found herself looking for a new job following her contract coming to an end, her friend recommended that she register with Ascendant Recruitment. Julie arranged to come in and meet with Abbey and Kelly from the Ascendant team.

Julie’s goal was to find a permanent secretarial role where she could put her excellent organisational skills to good use. When Abbey met Julie, she thought she could be ideal for a temporary-to-permanent legal secretarial role she was working on for her client, Dentons.

Julie interviewed for the role with Dentons and was offered the position, initially on a temporary contract with a view to becoming permanent if it went well. She started the role in July 2015 and received great feedback on her performance. In October she was delighted to be offered a permanent position.

Julie explains: ‘Although I was looking for a permanent role, I thought it was worth trying the temp-to-perm route and I’m glad I did. From day one I felt like I fitted in with the team. It’s a challenging role but I‘m becoming more confident every day.
